Intentionally Not a Blog

This site is a series of interrelated articles, some of which were months or years in the making. Nothing here is my quick opinion on current events. So don't feel that reading the most recent article brings you up to date. Everything is part of a much larger journey.

I custom-wrote the "blog" software and comment system here to make sure our discussion stays ours. There is no advertising, subscriptions, or selling content to an AI. I'm not trying to quit my day job to become a writer.

Every article is based on something fundamental I learned that I haven't found revealed anywhere else. So the topics can get pretty "deep." That being said, I anticipate the reader is intelligent, but not necessarily educated in all the topics that build to a conclusion. So I try to be conceptually thorough. All you really need to bring is a strong sense of curiosity.

Immanuel Kant Quote

I've organized the articles into 3 different sections:

The Basics

These are geared toward general readers trying to understand computer science topics. What is a Neural Network and should we fear AI? Are there other problems similar in the discipline? Speed of Life is probably the most lightweight article on the site. It conveys a sense of 'Orders of Magnitude' that is a fundamental barrier to all the other problems discussed further on.

Kingdom of Mind is the most ambitious in scope. It proposes a working definition of 'Intelligence' and provides an entirely new way of thinking about 'Consciousness.' If you are coming from the "Brain Inspired Complexity Group" you will want to start here. 'Kingdom of Mind' incorporates several months of the assigned reading and provides some background for the architectural approach in ARCHIE.

You will also notice the theme here of my building custom applications. I do this to explore difficult topics in a visually understandable way.

Next Steps

These are "gateway" topics that begin with insights on simple problem-solving but end up wading into metaphysics a bit. The Numbers is the keystone for the remaining articles. Someone was accused of trying to bamboozle a Hacker Conference about his discoveries which threatened modern encryption. To evaluate this claim, I end up building a tool for exploring Prime Numbers. This leads deeper into the occult history of science than I (or anyone?) would have ever expected.

"Here be Dragons." Don't start in this section. Decide after finishing Next Steps if you wish to move forward. You can continue navigating from there. I, myself, am proceeding cautiously as the notion of "restricted information" comes up repeatedly. I handle this objectively, I hope. After completing The Elements you may realize the "Forbidden Knowledge" concern is less "Exorcist" and more "Oppenheimer." But serious nonetheless. Perhaps even more serious.
